A Day Trip with A Friend

Justin and I took Connor and Kayla to lunch and then to The Children's Museum.  Having a yearly membership is awesome.  It's nice to always have something to do.  Yesterday, it was cold and rainy and finding something inside to do was easy because of our membership!

The Hills Travel East

We miss our friends dearly and really look forward to them visiting. Justin and I are determined to head out to Montana to see them. Connor and Kaitlyn just love each other. It was so neat to see how excited they always get when they reunite, just like the excitement we get!

We wound up staying the whole day with them. It was so much fun and sad when we had to leave. Connor cried, poor thing.

Merry Christmas 2012!

We had such a great time with our families. Connor, unfortunately, got the flu and strep but that didn't stop us! She slowed down a bit but still had a great time. Santa came to my parents house this year, at the last minute because we didn't want to keep moving her and because we were now not going to be able to spend the day with our family. It worked out great. She just loved having everyone there for her. And we just loved watching her excitement.

Excitement in a child's eyes is priceless. Justin and I enjoyed this Christmas so much because it felt like this year she actually "got" it. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family. We just wish we could have spent a little more time with them this year. No worries, we are all really close and see one another often.

Biff Finds Us in Maggie Valley!

Santa Comes Early

Wrapping presents early backfired. I was not thinking when I wrapped and labled a few gifts and put then under the tree. Here's the story...

... Every morning Connor comes Downstairs to look for Biff, our elf. Biff was busy playing cards with his friends (Barbie and ken) when Connor noticed the five new presents under the tree. She noticed five small little presents I wrapped and honestly they didn't even make the tree look any different!

She was immediately drawn to the new gifts and almost immediately recognized her name on the five new gifts. Sh@$&! I didn't think about this! Last year we told her those gifts were for family. Ugh!

She came up with her own conclusion explaining the gifts she found and I have to give her some credit. She concluded that Santa brought the gifts and asked Biff to wrap a few and one gift was for Connor to pick and open before Christmas. It worked with us... We will know better for next time!

Comps...

Justin just took his comprehensive exams. He had four months to prepare... We have our life back!
