The interesting thing was that I was standing right next to her washing a pot and I didn't hear nor see her as she was making her climb!

A Day in the Life of "The Little Girl"

Good morning, Sunshine! It usually takes you a couple of minutes to wake-up. You are so cute in the morning and very snuggly!

Around 7 am is when you get your first bottle. We are trying to transition you to the sippy cup. We are doing so slowly and you don't seem to be responding. Oh well. We will keep trying.

For breakfast, you usually have cheerios, yogurt and some sort of fruit. You can sign water now and make the refreshing ahh sound after each sip, which I think is SOOO cute!

You are on two naps now, both about an hour. Notice the teeth marks in the railing. You started doing this about a month ago and now it is harder for you because we lowered your crib. I hope you don't continue! I don't know how to fix it!

Outside with Doodle. You are really doing a great job watching him play and you respond by laughing. It was a little cold today but we both needed the fresh air.

Playing on your new foam mat. Unfortunately, we don't really have any room for a play area so the living room is acting as the play area for now. Once we finish painting the office downstairs, that will turn into your play area and also the office.sq

Lunch with Doodle. You invite him every day. He always accepts your invitation, especially when you are eating something other than cheerios. Today it was chicken noodle soup and black beans. Yumm!

Visitors! Kayla came over today to visit and play. She is our neighbor and will probably be moving soon so we need to make sure you get plenty of play time in with her.

We had a busy day today! We also went to Old Navy and went swinging in the backyard. I forgot my camera both of those times. I love the weekends because I get to see you all day long. I can understand why you are so tired at the end of the day! You are one busy girl. I bet your 7 pm bedtime couldn't come quick enough!

You are two and half weeks away from turning one. I can't believe how much you have grown!

Enjoying the Sun at Piedmont Park

Even though the grass was rough, Connor loved feeling it with her feet. She immediately wanted to take her shoes off so we let her. She loved it!

We tried for a family picture but Connor did not want to sit still. Oscar was ready for the picture though!

I didn't realize that I was holding a snack in my hand. I was wondering what she was fussing about?

We all enjoyed watching the dogs in the dog park. Oscar had not been to the dog park since Connor was born so it was a real treat for him too! It is too bad that this wonderful weather only lasted 48 hours. We are back to cold and rainy weather again. We can't wait to visit the park again!

Fun at Gymboree Play!

Kristin and I took Connor and Kaitlyn to Gymboree to play on Saturday. We did it because it was FREE! It is too expensive to continue to participate in but was well worth the free visit. The girls loved playing on the equipment and it was fun to see them interact with each other. Below is Connor trying to display some of the affection that she has for Kaitlyn. So cute!

We put the girls on the parachute to ride down together and they both loved it. It was cute to see the difference in the girls' personalities. Kaitlyn took the laid back route during the activities and Connor was all over the place. I think that right after this picture was taken, Connor dove to the floor. She is adventurous!

The girls were showing us how good they could stand! They would just look at each other and smile.

The class was great for the girls. If only they offered two free introductory classes...

Eleven Months and Counting

This is literally how happy you are every day. You are 11 months old today. I cannot believe that it will only be one more month until you are a year old. Time flies by so quickly. It was just yesterday that you were starting to eat solid foods.

Let mommy take you through the most recent events:

You say da dee ( you still do not say mommy:)

You are standing now while holding a toy and then you will fall to me without taking a step!

You know where mommy's nose is

When asked what a cow says, you say "bmmbmoooo"

You say thank you but never when you should say it; you only say it randomly

You say "ocar" and bark whenever you see him. You also bark when you see other dogs.

Oscar is actually taking a liking to you. You can now crawl all over him and he loves it.

You are in to EVERYTHING! I love it. Mommy and Daddy cannot leave you for a second.

You love Sesame Street. Daddy loves the fact that you love Sesame Street because it gives him a chance to eat his breakfast in the morning

You are transferring from the couch to the coffee table and doing it with ease.

You are the sweetest little girl. I can already see that you love life. Everything is at your grasp.

Happy 11th month birthday little girl. We love you with all of our hearts!

A Wonderful Weekend of Family, Food, Fun and Festivities!

Connor loves her cousins. She is learning so much from them and they are enjoying teaching her the ropes. The girls especially love that she is mobile and not so fragile. Here are a couple of pictures of a busy weekend but so much fun!

My mom offered to take all three girls home from Michael's craft store Saturday. They were getting really cranky and Kerri and I still had birthday shopping to do! So, I took Connor's car seat and installed it into Kerri's car. Who would have known that three convertible car seats would have all fit in the backseat of a Honda? It was worth it. We got all the creative side of the girls' birthday parties complete! Thanks mom!

My mom bought the same shirt for all the girls for Valentine's Day. Kerri and I made sure to match them because it is so much fun to take pictures that way. I obviously was not in on the memo to wear pink pants. :( Maybe next time!

For Valentine's Day, Justin made this delicious dinner and paired each course with a different beer. It was AMAZING! This is the first course, cajun benedict with toasted rye bread, andouille sausage, melted aged ghouda, poached egg and topped with a whole grain mustard sauce. This was literally how the whole meal was prepared, with precision and creativity!


This make-shift house was brought to Connor from Aunt Kerri. She loved it and I can't wait to get it home so she can play with it every day (it was a little too big to transport). The girls loved playing with it too. Just another opportunity to play and learn from her cousins.

Connor and Mommy on Valentine's Day. I love her so much. She makes me a very proud mommy. Please excuse the grownout mess that is my hair. I go next week. Just trying to stretch the dollar!
Connor loves to help. She thinks she is helping but really is not. At least she has fun at it and it keeps her busy. Such a sweet little pumpkin. It will be nice when she gets old enough and we are teaching her responsibility to give her the task of emptying and loading the dishwasher. She should be really good at it by then!

Our little girl will be 11 months tomorrow. I can't believe it. She has changed so much and fills our lives with happiness and pure bliss.

I just happened to catch this innocent little voice. It put smiles on our faces for the rest of the day!

Another Friend Turns ONE!

Connor and I went to Grady's birthday party yesterday. I was a little hesitant with the condition of the roads but was reassured when the news broadcast that the roads were safe and the party was not until 2 pm which was enough time to melt the ice. Anyway, we trucked it out to Grayson. Connor slept the way there and slept the way back. It was great.
I had to dress her in her Valentine's red and white especially because Grady was actually born on Valentine's Day. When we got there Grady gave Connor a Valentine bib that we had to wear because it matched so well!

Grady didn't like Connor pulling on him. She was trying to stand and doesn't understand that humans are not as steady as furniture.

Grady was so cute. He wore that hat the whole time. I hope Connor wears hers for her birthday party!

The Snack Cup

Thank goodness for snacks in the car. Connor is not good at traveling in the car. We assumed that when this started around six weeks old that it would end around four months old, when she was better at seeing and holding things that kept her attention. Nothing changed at that four month old mark. She is now approaching 11 months and she is still pretty bad about traveling. Until the snack cup... when we are driving and she starts to whine, we wait until the last minute when we give her the snack cup. What a life saver!

Free time

When I have free time after Connor goes to bed, which is 7:30, I don't find myself in front of the t.v. I usually go to my computer and check my google reader, post another blog, check facebook or check my email. Seldom do I turn on the t.v. and watch "my shows". My shows in in quotations because I don't really have shows anymore that I watch. Justin and I used to watch The Biggest Loser and LOST. We used to watch Next Iron Chef and Next Food Network Star and those are no longer on our list of things to do after 7:30. I think it is so interesting that my computer has pretty much replaced my t.v. (as I am sitting here blogging at 8 pm when I could be getting ready for LOST). Just a thought; the times are changing.

Bath time

More bath pics. I love bathing her because she enjoys it so much. She would stay in for a half hour if I let her but can't because of her eczema. No worries; the 10 minutes she is allowed to stay in the tub are perfect.

Connor's Birthday is Coming up

I don't know where to begin with the birthday planning.  We are having Connor's birthday at my parents' house because we have so much family and so many special friends.  We have been to a couple of 1st birthdays this year and I have gotten good ideas that will hopefully help.  It is funny because I have taken mental notes of likes  from each party I am not going to go crazy with decorations.  I figured that the people there will be the decorations.  We went to Caroline's 1st birthday and the decorations were perfect.  Monica made  snowflakes that she hung and also put up a few balloons.  Monica and also another 1st birthday party we went to, dumped a huge tub of toys for all the children to play with.  That was a great idea!  There will be beer and wine; isn't the party more for adults?  As far as goodie bags, I don;t know what route I am going to take on these.  I have to do some more thinking.  Another 1st birthday party we went to there were bags for all children and in the bags were cute little toys that Connor actually played with.  My stand is that I don't want to put together bags that result in being thrown away but at the same time I can't spend too much on them either!  What to do?  I am sure I will find a solution.

I am having someone makes Connor's birthday outfit and bib.  I can't wait to see it!  It is my neighbors mom that has her own business.  You can find her stuff at etsie.com and her business name is jewellulu Designs.  She will make and embroider almost anything!  She also has a great reputation so check her out!

On another note, my camera charger should have come in the mail (we didn't check the mail yesterday) so bring on more pictures and videos of the little girl!  Happy Sunday!

A Whole lotta Nothing Going on

There is absolutely nothing going on right now and that is because I do not have ANY school work to do.  I finished my masters degree and could not be more excited!  Now I get to come home everyday and play with Connor with not one reservation or thought about the work that I need to get done after she goes to bed. I am so happy right now!  A long two years but well worth it.  I wouldn't have done it any different either.  So cool.

Now, if I could just find my camera charger, I will post some more pictures of the little girl.  She is so much fun.  Just tonight she started standing on her own and actually taking a couple of steps toward different pieces of furniture.  She is such a joy.  Now if I could somehow find a way to get her to stop digging her eight little teeth into her crib, we would be golden!
