Fall Festival at Smynra UMC

We went to get our pumpkins from Smyrna UMC this year. While there, the checkout lady told us about the fall festival that the church puts on. You come and eat dinner, they have a cake walk, they sell raffle tickets and the night ends with a trunk or treat. I had never heard of a trunk or treat before and was eager to dress Connor up and see what it was all about! I can honestly say that having a child helps you to enjoy things that you otherwise would not. It is almost as if you can act as a kid again but do so in an adult's body. Anyway, my mom and dad came with us and we wound up having a blast. Connor didn't realize what was going on but we sure did and we enjoyed ourselves. Take a look!

You would think that she had done this before. Her hand would go right into the candy basket. It was quite funny.

There were leftover pumpkins and we took advantage of the props!

Today, we are packing up and heading to the Hills' house to enjoy football, food and watching the girls play together. I will definitely post pictures because you have to see how cute Kaitlyn is in her ladybug costume. Happy Halloween!

Being a Mommy

I just wanted to take this time to share how special I feel being a mommy. I always knew that this next journey that Justin and I would take with Connor would be great but never as fulfilling as I anticipated. When she wakes in the morning and I peek my head over the crib slowly to see her great big beautiful smile, it calms me. It gives me a sense of confidence that I (we) are doing something right.

I hate that I have to go to work every day but am at peace when I am there because I know that Connor is in good hands, both with her daddy and grandma. I never even take into account how much time Justin and I spend in the car dropping off and picking up during the week. I don't because every time I am doing so, I am thinking how thankful we are for having such a wonderful family to help us. In the 40 minutes it takes to pick her up, I find myself speeding because I can't wait to see her. I can't wait to hold her in my arms. This feeling, like many others, is what completes me. When a little being, that you created, makes you the happiest and most fulfilled you have ever been, you feel special.

Georgia Bear

Meme and Gangy got Connor a Build A Bear when she was born. They also recorded their voices inside the bear because they knew they weren't going to be able to see her that often. Well Connor has fallen in love with this bear. She shreaks whenever we play with it and I think it is so cute!

It sounds like the TV is so loud in the video but it isn't. Where we have her little play area is also where one of the many speakers we have are. Our camera has a great audio quality. hehe~! Enjoy!

If you notice Connor stick her tongue out a couple of times it is because her first tooth has FINALLY come in! She was up every hour last night and I hope that is why because we are exhausted!

Highlands Teething Tablets

Connor is actually cutting two teeth ( I think). She won't let me open her mouth long enough to see. But, I know there is at least one in that little mouth of hers. I tried oragel and you know that outcome. It didn't seem to work. I was desperate and asked for help on Facebook. Most everyone suggested Hyland's teething tablets. They are a homeopathic solution to irritability due to teething. I asked Kerri and she said that they did not work for Kendall but worked miraculously for Juliette so I thought I would give them a try.

THEY WORK! THEY WORK! They actually helped to calm her. Love them!

Not only am I Seven months old today...

I am also getting a tooth! I have been squealing and whining pretty much all day. It hurts! My mommy gives me tylenol and motrin for the gum pain. It helps a lot so I hope she keeps giving it to me. Right now, my tooth looks like a clear line in my gum. When I drink out of my mommy's water glass you can see it really well! She said she was going to try and take a picture but I don't stay still so we will see if that happens!

Can you believe that I am seven months old already?!?! I can't believe it either. I say words like "ba" and "da" and "ga". I am working on saying mommy. She helps me practice so hopefully that will be my first official word. Oh! I can get on my hands and knees now and I rock back and forth. I think it will only be a couple of more weeks before I am crawling. I keep telling mommy and daddy to baby-proof the house but they keep putting it off. I'll show them.

I went to see my Aunt Emily and Uncle Will this weekend. She loves to bake and I wanted to help! So she let me stir the rice krispy treats she was making for her Sunday school class. I think I am going to love being in the kitchen!

Gotta go! Mommy and Daddy are about sing happy birthday to me!

Love, Connor

Happy (Late) Birthday, MeMe!

I forgot my mother's birthday. Wait. Let me re-phrase: Kristin let me forget MeMe's birthday. Truth be told, I am horrible at remembering birthdays, so this one is squarely on me. Anyway, once we realized, we decided that we would make amends with a new Connor video for MeMe. Without further ado...

Pumpkins, Pumpkins and MORE Pumpkins!

I was looking to see what pumpkin farm we could take Connor to. Of course there aren't any in Atlanta so we were going to truck it all the way to Canton. We finally decided that we would get our pumpkins locally this year and wait until next year to take her to an actual pumpkin farm with hayrides and such. It worked just fine too! We went to Smryna United Methodist church because they had hundreds of pumpkins to choose from. I think Connor enjoyed herself. Her eyes kept scanning all the pumpkins wondering what they were all doing there. We were able to get some good pictures of her first "pumpkin patch".

Hello from Connor!

Just an update... Connor still has her double ear infections although you would never know it. Justin took her to the doctor last week and Dr. Loventhal put her on a third antibiotic to try get rid of it. If they aren't gone by next week, when Justin takes her back to the doctor, then we have to go to the ear nose and throat doctor. When I tell people that, the first thing that comes out of everyone's mouth is oh... tubes. So we will see! She is still tugging at her ears so we are still giving her motrin or tylenol.

Connor now sits in a highchair and it is soooo cute! This picture is not the best but I tried. We bring her high chair cover with us when we eat out and she sits with us and eats her puffs! She loves her puffs! She also cannot get enough of her biscuits. She would eat biscuits all day if we let her.
