Trout fishing in the Valley

Gangy has been wanting to take Connor trout fishing. She's older and she's also shown some excitement so he thought this trip would be perfect for their excursion. 

She was so excited and freaked out when the first one took the bait.

It was so cute and she had a bunch if fun. Until next year!

Happy 4th of July from Maggie Valley!

Another successful and exciting 4th for the Hortons! We had planned on heading to Maggie Valley on Friday and were excited when we decided to head up a day early.  Connor just adores her Meme and Gangy and loves coming to the mountains. We are realizing that now that she is older, we can't just sit and enjoy the tranquility while reading. We need to be up, moving and playing!

Gangy bought us some fireworks and we had a great time setting them off! I can't wait for Connor to share these experiences with her little brother and show him all the things she loves to do.

Pompano Beach 2013: Out and About

Continuing our awesome beach vacation...

We got a chance to explore Pompano too! This vacation was truly one of the best. Vacationing with my parents is always fun and we laugh so much. I cannot wait until next year! Hopefully next year, Kerri and Justin will be able to go. Below are a couple of pictures to illustrate the rest of our unforgettable week together.

My parents and Shane went to the Bahamas on a day cruise and Uncle Shane brought Connor back this awesome shirt:

We played putt-putt for the first time this year, and I see this becoming a tradition:

And we ended our week seeing my best friend since third grade. I look forward to seeing Taryn every year. Our little families keep growing and it is so neat to see what the next year holds. Next year, Connor and Tyler will have Whit as a playmate!

Pompano Beach 2013: Fun in the Sun

My family has been going to Pompano Beach since I was in high school. I'm thankful we still go because it's a great family-friendly location and we stay busy the whole week. This is Connor's 2nd time going and we plan on continuing this tradition, especially when Whit is here!

Justin loves vacation because he doesn't do ANYTHING school related. It's his time to recuperate.

The resort has a lot of activities for the kids which is great, especially on rainy days or days you just need to take a day away from the sun. Uncle Tom was helping Connor make visors for her cousins that weren't here this year.

Kerri came into town and we decided to visit our zoo. It was hot but the kids had so much fun. I think their favorite part was the canary house. What a fun time!

Early Morning Sneak Attack

We have been working with Connor on staying in her bed ALL night.  For the most part, she has been successful.  But every once in a while we wake up to a sweet surprise:

Is it even possible to send this sweet face back to her own bed? Nope. So, we are still a work in progress.
