Ga State's First Football Game

The experience was awesome.  We tailgated for about an hour before the game and then stayed until the end of the first quarter (it was 8:30 and the little girl was tired).  I was just looking around in disbelief.  I was so excited for the school and also the students.  I just wish we would have had this same experience when we were all in school.  We have a band now!  And they sound really good!  Anyway, we scored on our first ever football team, our first ever football game, our first ever drive.  Pretty cool way to start this endeavor.  We will definitely be going back, sans baby so we can stay a little longer. :)

Just a Normal Tuesday...

On Tuesdays, Justin drops Connor at school and then is not home until about 10:45 pm.  Tuesdays are his super long days and he doesn't get to see Connor or me at all.  At least it is only one day that this happens.  He hates it but he knows that it is for a good reason.  Anyway, this post is to give you a little glimpse of what Connor, Oscar and I do on Tuesdays when Daddy is away:

We play outside a lot now!  Especially since the heat has not been as bad.  Our neighbors have taught Connor how to slide by herself down the slide.  It is so neat to watch her do it all by herself.

She has two lawn mowers.  One is from her cousins but this one was found in the yard, is dingy and the dogs like to pee on it.  I wind up hosing it down every time before she uses it just to make sure.

Connor also likes to play with chalk now.  Ever since she became interested in coloring, she has been more interested in chalk.  Krystal came over to play with us and let her dogs play together.  Connor calls Bogey Booboo.  Hilarious!

Connor loves to play chase, especially when she has something in her hand that she knows she shouldn't have:

Connor loves black olives and she also likes salad.  Who would have known?  Anyway, this is her once she realized there were black olives in my salad.  I have to remember to hide them every time.

Birthdays Galore!

Saturday, we drove to Cleveland to go to Juliette's 3rd birthday party.  I was so excited about it because it was at Babyland General Hospital!  I hadn't been in so long and was excited to see the new location.  I just knew that Connor would have a great time too.  Juliette enjoyed watching the "live birth" and also choosing a name for the newest addition to the cabbage patch family!  I thought she was going to choose Juliette for the name but she chose Olivia Lynn instead.  So cute!

We had a great time and I cannot wait to take Connor back when she is older. 

Educator Zoo Day and Justin Horton's Brew Day!

Wow! You can definitely tell that it is the beginning of the school year and I am extremely busy.  I have not been blogging lately because there is just so much to do with school and by the time I pick Connor up from daycare, I don't want to do anything else but be by her side.  So, I am going to continue to try and update more frequently.

EDUCATOR DAY AT THE ZOO

Monica and I took the girls to the zoo last weekend for educator's day.  We got in free and the girls were free because they are under 3, so we definitely took advantage!

 The girls loved the gorillas.  They were definitely entertaining and a little graphic but funny to say the least.

 After the zoo, we went to Six Feet Under because Monica loves the restaurant and doesn't really get an opportunity to go too often.  Their food is awesome, especially if you like seafood.

Justin defended his thesis on the 16th and he wanted to have a brew day to celebrate.  It was so much fun hanging out with our friends.  The whole idea behind the brew day is to invite everyone back in eight weeks when it finishes fermenting.  We tasted it without the carbonation and it is delicious!

We'll see everyone back in eight weeks!

You are Already 17 Months old...

... and you continue to amaze us everyday!  Boy do we love you.  The really cool part about your age is that you make us laugh a lot!  You understand so much that we tell you and and ask you to do.  I know that you weigh 23.5 pounds because I took you to the doctor two days ago to see why you weren't sleeping!

You started daycare last week and it has been a rather slow transition to the new environment.  Your teachers are great and patient which I respect because I know how it is being around young children all day.  I think it is so cool that you sleep on a mat at daycare!  17 months old and sleeping on a mat!  I didn't think it was possible, but I was proven wrong.

Your vocabulary is up to about 30 words and you are beginning to put words together:
"no no doodle!"

"Come on doodle!"
"Please, Mommy."
"Thank you."
"All done"



You eat very little meat.  Actually, pretty much no meat at all.  You like Boca chicken patties so I will continue to cook them for you.  You love just about every fruit but I can't say that about vegetables.  You only eat green beans and corn. Oh, and you like my lettuce that has dressing on it (I wasn't surprised)!


You have all your teeth now.  The last two cut through and are what was keeping you up at night. :)
 We cannot believe that in one month you will be 18 months old.

It's Gonna be Long...

I have to apologize to my mom because now that I am back in school, she doesn't keep Connor once or twice a week anymore.  With that being said, she keeps asking when I am going to update!  I apologize mom!  The beginning of the school year is sooo busy.

So, this post is going to be long because I have to recap the past three weeks!  Enjoy!

First is first,  before Justin and I went back to school, we went to his parents' house in Maggie Valley.  We love going there because it is so relaxing, Connor has a great time with Justin's parents and Oscar gets all the exercise he needs.

When we got back we went to Carter's First Birthday Party!  He is so cute and we don't get to see him too often so we made the trip to Columbus to help him celebrate!  Lindsey did such a great job with everything.  It was a 'wear your favorite sports team' theme.  I just loved that idea!  Here are a couple of pictures of Connor and her cousin, Carter:

 After Carter's birthday party, we all went back to Uncle Jack and Aunt Connie's house to swim.  This is so cool because I have numerous fond childhood memories of swimming and Aunt Connie and Uncle Jack's house.  Now the children have grown up, the grand-babies are making those similiar fond memories!  Connor sliding to Aunt Cheryll:

Last weekend we went to the Hills' house to go to the pool.  It was a great time!  I just love when the girls get to play together.
